Our dentists will only ever advise and recommend that you go ahead with treatment rather than push you or ‘sell’ you a treatment.
We do strongly recommend going ahead with root canal treatment if your dentist has suggested it, as it could mean the difference between preserving your tooth and extracting it.
Step 1: Examination with your dentist.
Step 2: Recommendations from your dentist. In many cases, the tooth can indeed be saved with a root canal, though occasionally, an extraction may be the most sensible course of action.
Step 3: An anaesthetic is applied, and the root canals are cleaned. Your dentist will remove the decayed substance and seal the tooth.
Step 4: A crown is custom-made to fit over the treated tooth. This will restore its aesthetic and make it much easier to bite and chew than when your tooth was inducing unpleasant symptoms.
Step 5: Your dentist will provide you with instructions on short- and long-term aftercare.

This said, some common symptoms include:
Bacterial infections destroy the living tissues (the pulp) inside your tooth. This can cause inflammation, giving bacteria the opportunity to thrive and cause an intensely painful abscess or even greater health problems such as a stroke or sepsis. Treatment will save your tooth from extraction and isolate the issue (as long as it’s caught relatively early on).
